Martin Zorde

Martin was born In Denmark, but was raised in New Jersey by Danish parents who instilled in him a love of plants and science, along with teaching him about traditional plant medicinal uses. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biological science with a minor in plant biology at the University of Vermont. Following his time at UVM he traveled around New Zealand for a year where he gained an even stronger drive to learn and discover plants and their uses. Eventually, he returned to New Jersey where he joined the natural products program at Rutgers to pursue a PhD in Plant Biology. He conducts research on breeding Exotic peppers for increased nutrition and potential use.
